About	Death fromcomplications from COVID. He was born on April 16, 1944 in Los Alamos, NM to Alan and Virginia Ayers. He graduated Highland High School in Albuquerque, NM in 1962 then attended New Mexico State University where he graduated with a B.S. in Ag Biology in 1969. He married Gayle Hille in 1974 in Las Cruces, NM. After college he worked for the Agricultural Sustainability and Conservation Service (ASCS) covering Dona Ana and Sierra counties. He also spent time in the construction industry. In 1980 he started a custom boot business where he made custom boots for 1000’s of people across the country for 41 years. In 1998, he stepped in and began managing the family ranch in Estancia, NM after the passing of his father Alan. He loved his family, his dogs, ranching, making boots, sports, horse racing, western dancing, and the cowboy way of life. He lived life on his terms, having fun all along the way. He never met a stranger and could carry a conversation with anyone regardless of how long he knew them.
