About	Janet E. (Duncan) Dolan, a 1959 graduate of Hastings High School, passed away in Boston last Monday, Oct. 15, 2018. Jani always had a kind and positive spirit. Her friendly smile was backed by a clever and inquisitive mind, and she was beloved by all who knew her. She lived life fully right up to the end, despite having to cope with MS for 35 years. But a series of recent illnesses proved too much for her body to handle. Jani grew up in Hastings. After high school, she graduated from Tufts University and Columbia University School of Nursing. She worked for a time at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital and devoted many years to community service. She and her late husband, Kevin Dolan, lived in Manhattan and Dobbs Ferry before moving to Boston in 1987. She traveled widely, even long after being confined to a wheelchair, and enjoyed the beauty and culture of all the places she explored. Her spirit will continue to guide her daughters, Kerry Dolan Slater of Sierra Madre, Calif., and Tracy Dolan of Grankulla, Finland, as well as her beloved grandchildren, Mason Slater, and Alec, Katie and Megan Lindqvist. She is also survived by her brothers Hugh, John and Tim Duncan. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Oct. 21, at 3:30 pm at the Parish House of King’s Chapel, 64 Beacon Street, Boston.
