Graduation Year Class of 1973
Date of Passing Oct 24, 2021
About Renee was born on April 8, 1954 to the late William Perry and Doris J. Richardson. Renee better known as “Ms. Reed” to many and especially her students. She was also known by her childhood friends as Ting-a-Ling.

She graduated from Franklin & Marshall College and Cabrini University earning her Master Degree in Education.

Renee was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2018. She remained strong and continued to work while she fought the battle of cancer. She had worked thirty-three years at the Harrisburg School District. It was a hard decision but she knew it was time for her to retire. She needed to focus on herself and allow her body to recover from the side effects of the chemotherapy. So, she officially retired from the school in 2019. Renee continued the good fight at home for the next two years with her sons, grandchildren, family, friends and those who loved and support her. She was in and out of hospitals and Manor Care Rehab with different challenges. Finally, Renee was released from the nursing home in October of last year. She fought the good fight one more year to see her last granddaughter born in October of 2021. Renee loved to travel and was looking forward to traveling after she kicked cancer’s butt. However, God saw it fit to call her to the best place to travel, Paradise.

Renee was a devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed raising her two sons and was very proud off them. She enjoyed the smiles on her grandchildren’s faces when they came over and looked forward to watching them. In her free time, she would enjoy kickboxing, swimming, and even
chess which she was great at. Renee was very passionate in teaching the students in the Harrisburg school district. She was a part of the Harrisburg
Education Association and Harrisburg Ethnic Minority Committee.

Renee leaves to cherish her fond memories her sons; Seth and Devon Reed, her grandchildren; Dominic, Zariah, Jayden and Ashton, her brother’s two children and two daughters-in-law. She will be deeply missed by friends, family and all who knew her.
