Matthew John Whittall III

Rest in Peace, Matthew John Whittall. John passed away after a brief illness on June 6, 2016.
'Rest in peace Matthew John Whittall, III John passed away on the morning of June 6, 2016, after a brief illness. An avid fisherman and hunter, he was a gentle, generous soul enclosed in a crusty exterior. He served as a Special Forces 1st Lieutenant in Vietnam. His first love was always his dogs. He was very active in the Gordon Setter Club of American while he lived in New Hampshire, serving as a hunt test judge for a number of years. As his son Matthew was growing up, John was also very involved in the Boy Scouts. He loved our farm in the Upper Peninsula, planting his field with forage crops to help improve the dwindling deer population. I'm sure he is now fishing the best trout pond he has ever fished and catching the biggest fish he has ever caught.'
