Jerry William Welte, 62, of Sandwich IL, passed away on January 18, 2021 after an extensive battle with cancer.
Jerry was born on August 4, 1958 to Roger and Denise Welte in Harvard, IL. After graduating from Guilford High School, Rockford IL, in 1976, he worked at several jobs and took classes from NIU before studying Computer Science at DeVry. He graduated from DeVry in 1994 and began his career as a software developer which he continued until his death.
In 1991, he met Laurel Farrell and they wed in 1992, going on to have 2 children, Cheryl and Caroline. Music brought them together and continues to be a shared love and comfort for the family.
Jerry Welte was predeceased by his mother, Denise Welte. He is survived by his wife, Laurel Welte; children, Cheryl (David) Hellyer and Caroline Welte; grandson, Willow Hellyer; father, Roger Welte; and siblings Brian (Diane) Welte, Phil Welte, Dana Welte, Sheila (Richard) Burroughs, Valerie (Jim) Auber.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 from 10:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M. at Beverage Family Funeral Home, 104 Terry St Sandwich, IL 60548. Funeral service to follow at 12:00 P.M. Interment will follow out to St. John Cemetery in Somonauk, IL. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Beverage Family Funeral Home. www.beveragefamilyfh.com
