About	John F. Coblentz 1951—2021 John F. Coblentz, longtime resident of Rockford, died peacefully of natural causes on September 15, 2021. John was born in Milwaukee on December 19, 1951 to Thomas and Barbara (Wilger) Coblentz. John had relocated in August from Rockford to Charlotte, NC to live with his brother and sister-in-law (Patrick and Patricia). John graduated from Guilford H.S. in 1970. He graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1974 with a degree in finance. John was diagnosed with Crohn's disease in 1964 which severely impacted his life. After going through multiple intestinal surgeries due to the damage done by the Crohn's disease, John's intestinal tract was bypassed via an ileostomy in 1981. He lived with this condition for over 40 years, which was a remarkable testament to his courage, determination and spirit. John's employment career was greatly impacted by his health and he retired from work in the early 2000's. He had previously been employed primarily by Dovenmuehle Bank in Chicago, ABL Lighting in Rockford and Stevens Point, WI and Production Design Associates in Rockford. In his later years in Rockford John lived with brother Paul in the Highcrest area. He enjoyed bantering with friends over morning coffee and a waffle at Johnny Pamcakes. John was a steadfast friend and brother and will be greatly missed. He enjoyed reading, particularly history, and was an avid sports fan cheering on the Brewers, Packers, Badgers and always the Huskies of his alma mater. John was preceded in death by his mother, father and brother Peter. John is survived by his sister Anne, brothers Patrick (Patricia) and Paul and the family of his late brother Peter – Maureen Mitchel and children Emily, Margaret, William and Patrick.
