Dear 1962 GCHS Classmates,

On July 9, 2022, we will have our 60th reunion! We reserved a room at the BarLea Roots Event Center, 24735 U Ave, Reinbeck, IA 50669. Please check the GCHS Alumni Website for last-minute changes. We will not have a class ride in the parade.

This year’s reunion is a by reservation only event. This means we dine in a quiet private club atmosphere and the food is catered. The downside is that we need a firm head count to cater the food and determine the cost per individual. Currently 24 people have committed to come. This calculates to about $30 per individual. It appears there could be eight to 12 more that may come. If all 12 come, the cost per person goes down to about $27 per person. This includes shared room cost of $200.

5:30 PM Social hour at the BarLea Roots Event Center. It has an “open pay as you go bar” with chips and salsa on the tables.

6:30 PM Dinner starts with a buffet line with servers:
Smoked pork loin and/or smothered chicken breast, cheesy ranch potatoes and steamed veggies, lettuce salad, rolls and water at each table setting, desert is choice of cake or spatula served bars. Bar waitress available for pay as you go bar.

Please bring GCHS mementoes, pictures, or items to show on a display table.

No program planned, but there will be time to share a memory or story if you want.

Please follow these action items:
1. Immediately REPLY to this email. This will let me know you received it, so I don’t have to do a follow up on you.
2. It is critical that you RSVP to me by June 15, 2022, with your number of attendees. This is a catered meal so only the number of RSVP meals are served.
3. If someone wishes to come and NOT EAT the meal, we will charge $10 per person to share the room rental cost. Please let us know if this is your intention so we can have a seat for you. These people may use the ‘pay as you go’ open bar if they wish.
