A 35th year meet-up has been planned for us to casually get together. Down payments and reservations are NOT required. There are not any contracts with hotels and we have not booked picnic space reservations.....just show up! Yup! If you ask the staff about GHS....they will know zippo!
So that means it is cheaper and on you to navigate the instructions here and in the future to get your shenanigans on!
Saturday-August 2nd
Kona Kai Vessel lounge/Beach area 6:30-till face plant! Listen to live music and relax under the stars at this newly renovated gem. Gather your friends in advance for a pre-dinner (Make your OWN reservations/Plans for dinner) or come anytime and just seek out the laughter! We will keep you posted as we get closer to the event of a specific location and time where we can all be found. There are bars for food and appetizers located at the venue.
Sunday-
Humphrey's Famous Sunday Brunch.($44++) Make your own reservations requesting the lounge area if you can get it. (Please, NO mention of a GHS group) beginning at 11:45 through 1pm preferably. It's their Back Stage Lounge with public seating so this is not a private event. Afterwards we'll either walk across the street to the grassy area or head back to the Kona Kai and convene on their terrace (To Be Determined).
And for you retro party animals:
Tom Petty and Steve Winwood are playing together out at SDSU Viejas Arena at 7!!!
Fine Print:
-Watch for Face Book updates
- Do not bring coolers of beer and tons of food on Saturday night. Be discrete and keep them in your room or car. A big bonfire of cut-loose 50+ year olds reliving Cheap Trick and Tom Petty may cause the paddy wagon to come reclaim the restricted and alcohol free beaches!
-No monies required in advance. Guests will pay individually for all events
-No group reservations made in advance for either of the above mentioned gatherings
-Preferably adults only
-There are dozens of Hotels/Motels located along Rosecrans St, Shelter/Harbor Island to accommodate every budget. Otherwise, please connect with Uber and get yourself home safely :-) (I am a former ER nurse, so I am seen my fair share of bad s__t).
-No reason to call or ask questions as this is all the info we know!! But I will keep you posted on this site.
- Please share this with others. I am not sending out mass emails or invitations. I will post something on the GHS alumni site, but that is it. Keeping it manageable this go-around.
- BTW....I hope you all will come...we had an amazing class... so many cool people! I will figure out some fun way to get us all to identify ourselves in a crowd, so stay tuned. (I may may be wearing New Orleans Blue and gold beads!)
