About	Jon Michael "Mike" Kemptar of North Platte passed away Febraury 11, 2008 at the Sutherland Care Center. Burial will be at Lincoln Memorial Park in Lincoln. He was born November 24, 1946 to Kenneth & Evelyn (Wicker) Kemptar in Grand Island, Nebraska. He graduated from Grand Island Senior High School in 1965 and then attended the University of Lincoln in Lincoln and graduated in 1969. In April 1970, Mike married Nancy Schildman and they were married for 37 years. Mike enlisted in the U.S.Navy and served in Guam and Hawaii. After his discharge, they lived in Lincoln and Omaha. Mike worked as a revenue officer for the IRS over 30 years in Omaha and North Platte. He was a member of the Platte Valley Auto Club and the Experimental Aircraft Association. He loved his family, cars, sailing, camping, music and was known for his jokes. Mike was loved and will be missed by everyone. Survivors include his Nancy of North Platte, two daughters, Lora (Jermy) Wood of North Platte and Kari (Chris) Stein of Lawrence Kansas. One son, Adam (Jamie) Kemptar of Deluth, Minn. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the National Alzheimer's Association for Research.
