About	Jessica Marie Patterson, 21, passed away at 1:04 p.m. Monday, Nov. 8, 2010, as a result of an automobile accident on Little Grassy Road in Carbondale. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010, at the First Apostolic Church in Marion, with the Rev. R. G. Walls officiating. Visitation was held from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010, at the church. Donations were made to the Jessica Patterson Scholarship Fund. Jessica's family gave the first scholarship award in May 2011 and hope to give many more. Jessica was born Oct. 29, 1989, in Herrin to William Mark and Kelley (Colp) Patterson. She graduated from Goreville High School in 2008, where she served as her class president all four years. Jessica graduated with high honors from Shawnee Community College and was enrolled at Southern Illinois University Carbondale as an art education major. She previously worked at Goreville Food Market and was a member of First Apostolic Church in Marion. Jessica's final resting place is at McKinney Chapel Cemetery. A memorial stone is also attached to the tree on Little Grassy Road.
