About	Jack died a couple of years after becoming disabled due to a stroke during bypass surgery. He was 72 years old. Jack was a childhood friend of my older brother whose family lived around the block behind us at Church and Walters. Jack had a younger sister named Nancy who was tragically killed when struck by an oncoming train while crossing the tracks in 1975 in downtown Northbrook. This was devastating for his family and his father died several months later. Jack married and had a family and career while taking care of his ailing/grieving mother who died many years later. Jack was a well respected leader in the social services community working for Orchard Village in Skokie providing vocational services and support to disabled people. Jack was a really great guy and a family friend who I always admired for his genuinely sincere compassion and concern for others. Jack made a difference in the lives of people and was well respected in his community, he is deeply missed. RIP my friend.
