About Me | Controversial Author and Small Press Publisher, N.A. Pacione -- dark horror fiction and Science Fiction with a Conservative world view but scary enough to scare the Goths and everyone in between. Picture Edgar Allan Poe if he drank a lot of coffee. Shit, first things first -- I am a horror writer and a small press publisher of two imprints and I am an old school webmonkey from the mid-1990s meaning I was designing websites and writing html while people my age at the time when I started my site are bragging about how their VampireFreaks.com, Myspace.com, LiveJournal.com, Blogspot.com, or Wordpress.com places being their actual websites. I say the blog layout for a website is a damn copout for a website. I'm diagnosed with Bipolar Type 2. this fully working when I got an account with WritersCafe.org in 2006. I've been writing since the age of fourteen and now really showing my age. I've been published in print since 2004, and published online since the age of twenty. I've been submitting out since the summer of 2004 several rejections and a few accepted to anthologies. Want to know more about the anthologies I got published in stick around. I had a website since 1997 called Writings From The Grave, and still run the site -- I will post some of my horror fiction over there but not everything because I want people to check out the print stories too. Bite of the Spider is linked as information where they can grab Reality Check: An Anthology Of Horror. I was also published on House of Pain E-Zine -- one of the most hellish e-zines to publish horror out there. If you were part of this mag, you know who you are and you know what kind of horror they ran there. B.D. Knox took this e-zine to the extremes to feature authors Everette Bell and B.L. Morgan who both later appeared on my line up for the fourth incarnation and most hellish Tabloid Purposes. This is the most recent edition of the magazine, I publish a lot of secular horror, science fiction, and sometimes the eerie non-fiction story. This one is illustrated by Alex Rivera and the photo work is done by yours truly. I write some religious horror but I am mostly a secular horror writer. <A href="http://books.lulu.com/content/740917">http://books.lulu.com/content/740917</a> This has a Chicago based author published in it too named Steven Morgan. The story itself is a dark suspense tale. Horror, Suspense, and Science Fiction share itself in the pages of this mag. It is a 6x9 trade paperback I've been writing since 1990, been doing photography since 1993 and drawing since the age of eight. I do love our Chicago winters but two days I hate in December, and Tina will know why with one of them (december 8, 1990,) a classmate of ours was killed while a being a passenger in of a car with someone driving drunk. Then the other day, December 4, 1996, was the day I had a brush with death and walked away -- was hit by a car at 25 mph and wonder why I am still able to walk after that one. That was why I took the trip to Canada -- to have a better memory of the day. I read and publish Pulp Horror. I am a pulp horror author too. Tabloid Purposes is my vehicle for revolution in the genre, and this became an entity that is a breathing living beast of horror and science fiction. I range from horror fiction with hard fighting characters (as in I don't write sex scenes in my stories -- I would rather write in a good brawl or two) to science fiction in the vein of Phillip K. Dick and Ray Bradbury. My main career is a writer but my side careers are a photographer and small press editor. I became a publisher first then I worked my way outward to get publishing credits, I don't have that many yet but the ones I do have I made it count. I am published in the micropress circuit and the semi-professional sector. One asshole keeps saying "You will never go professional" then he hides behind a livejournal supporting an author who pirated one my titles. Well those of you who found old GothicPreacher -- he's grown up. Those of you from 1994 who heard me read my testimony, well that one still lives within me but I just became a darker and much more haunting version of him. Someone who got older and also much more frightening. Writings From The Grave is my claim to fame. I am active with the metal community in Chicago and an observer of the Gothic one. I sort of became a heavy metal...(read more) |
