About	David passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 29, 2012, with his wife Jana Schuerenberg at his side, after a valiant two year battle with pancreatic cancer. He was a beacon of light in the lives of those he touched. Born August 3, 1959 in Denton, TX, to parents Winston and Mary Jane Hoskins of Garland, Texas. Brother Stephen, niece Winter Blossom, former sister in law Lori Hoskins, step-niece and nephew Lauren Griffin-Bares & Chase Griffin, all of Galveston, TX. Sister in laws Ann Wilson of Durham, NC and Lisa Schuerenberg of Dallas, TX. Grandson of the late Winston D. and Alma Hoskins and Albert and Dorothy Kaehler. He graduated from Garland High School in 1977, attended North Texas State University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Art and a minor in Biology in 1983. On August 21, 1984 he began his lifelong teaching career with Garland Independent School District which spanned 28 years. His early teaching career was at Brandenberg and Sellers Middle Schools. The past 20 years were spent at Hudson Middle School in Sachse, Texas where he established a legacy and bond with the students and staff. In 2010, David was nominated for Outstanding MS/JH Art Educator of Texas for TAEA (Texas Art Education Association), for the state of Texas. David was not only an accomplished artist, he was also a devoted friend and teacher, a lover of life, music, film and arts. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten
