Lori Sieve-Suhr

Class of 1991

LORI SIEVE was a graduate of Fulda High School in 1991. Lori is the daughter of Gary and Joyce Sieve, rural Wilmont. Lori has had quite the life. She had a big struggle in her first few years of elementary at Fulda. She was in a terrible accident on the farm in 1981. She was run over by a riding lawnmover at the age of 8. Doctors told Lori she would not be able to walk again, or dance...but Lori new better. She struggled daily on many tasks and activities and regained her strength, esteem and dignity to walk again. She knew even though thru the cries of frustration..that she could be herself again with hard work. She regained her ambitions to catch up with homework after being a half a year behind from the summer of 2nd grade to 3rd grade. She learned to walk again, and even learned to dance. Lori wants to thank Mrs. Beerman the most for her help and success in reaching her tutoring and homework goals. She didn't know what she would have done without Mrs.Beerman and her dedication. Lori was so grateful for her help that she has never forgotten since that day. It was a miracle to get her to the place she was, commented a friend. It has been the journey with her education early on.
Since then, Lori has had other struggles but always tries to help people the best she knows possible. Lori struggled with her bodily figure and how she looked to others. Lori daily wanted to be normal, but she knew this is the way she would be now until the day she died. Lori was Lori and it was what she was going to have to accept. She accepted the stares, the laughs, the points and the constant jokes on her leg and foot. Lori knew she had beauty inside and she always strived to find it. Lori went on after graduation to graduate from college with two different degrees and continues to study on the internet. Lori was awarded in 2003 the Literary Award for Childrens Literature. Lori worked for the elderly and the disabled all thru college and in a pharmacy for 2 years during college. Lori has loved working in the healthcare industry. Lori did still have some fights when in 2000 her father was hospitalized with heart problems. She has always remained a good spirit thru it all. In addition, Lori was a single mom 2002-2008 and during she landed a great nursing position at the hospital in Council Bluffs IA. Lori has definately come out of her struggles. She now works in the Critical Care Department and has enjoyed being a member of the Employee Relations Council for 5 metro hospitals. In her spare time she is currently helping her partner with his antique business and building his website. So, Lori we congratulate you on all your accomplishments. We want to nominate you on your success and happiness.
