Legedu Naanee

Former NFL player[20]

What is Legedu Naanee known for?

Legedu A. Naanee, famously known as Legedu Naanee, is a former American Football player prominently recognized for his role as a wide receiver. He was born on September 16, 1983, in Portland, Oregon, USA. Naanee's journey towards his professional football career began at Franklin High School in Portland, Oregon, where he was a student and letterman in football, basketball, and baseball.

After high school, he garnered scholarship offers from numerous Pac-10 and Big-12 schools, including Oregon and Oregon State. However, he chose to play at Boise State University, as they were the only major program to offer him a chance to play as a quarterback, a position he held and cherished in high school. In due course, Naanee transitioned to the wide receiver position, contributing significantly to his team.

Naanee's professional journey commenced when he was drafted by the San Diego Chargers in the fifth round of the 2007 NFL Draft. His career spanned various teams such as the San Diego Chargers (2007–2010), the Carolina Panthers (2011), and the Miami Dolphins (2012). Over his career, Naanee achieved notable NFL statistics with 108 receptions, 1,232 receiving yards, and scored 4 receiving touchdowns.

During his stint with the Chargers, specifically during the 2010 season, Naanee was primarily the number two receiver behind Malcom Floyd. This came about due to a holdout by the usual starter Vincent Jackson. Naanee, in his first start for the season, made an impact by catching a touchdown pass.

More about his career and stats can be found on his NFL profile and Pro Football Reference page.
