About Joseph James Sosnowski, age 67 of Warren, died Thursday, October 23, 2014 at St. John Macomb-Oakland Hospital, Macomb Center in Warren. He was born November 23, 1946 in Detroit, son of Joseph Julius and the late Rosemarie (nee: Zimmel) Sosnowski.

Very solitary,…very intelligent,…and quite the romantic, too. These are just three of the traits that define Joseph and his eclectic character. He may have worked in the automotive industry for years, but his heart was enveloped by all things history related. He might have told you that his dream job would have been that of a History teacher, and it would have made perfect sense when you consider the countless hours he spent soaking up historical information and learning about the past. To say he was a "history buff" would just be scratching the surface of Joseph's immense knowledge,…but that's exactly what & who he was to all who truly knew him. And as much as he loved history, Joseph was equally enthralled by his love of trivia, as well. A History Buff AND a Trivia Buff,…Lord knows, he must have been a scary competitor when it came to the game of Trivial Pursuit.

When he wasn't working, one of Joseph's favorite pastimes was simply chillin' in front of the television and enjoying something on the History Channel, a good detective drama, or perhaps exchanging his machismo for a little mushiness on the Lifetime Network. That's right,…he loved romantic movies. For as smart and inspired as he was, Joseph was also a big ol' softie inside who could appreciate the finer points of romance. How about this ladies,…Joseph kept every card that Ann had ever given him, be it birthday's, anniversaries, or just any occasion.

Joseph also possessed a penchant for traveling and, together with Ann, managed to visit and take in some of the world's most scenic and wonderful travel destinations. Their travels took them to Mexico, Turkey, Italy and Monaco, with their favorite being the City of Romance, Rome,…where the visited on several occasions.

And then there was his love of cats,…especially the 5 furry felines with whom he shared his home. Not having children of his own, he happily and lovingly played Daddy to his four-legged friends who offered him a wonderful mix of playfulness and compassion.
A loving husband, son and brother, Joseph leaves behind many who held him dear and will miss him immensely. May he rest in peace.

Joseph was the beloved husband of Ann, and the loving son of Joseph and the late Rosemarie. He was also the dear brother of Dennis and Robert Sosnowski.

Visitation for Joseph will be held on Sunday, October 26th from 3-9pm and Monday from 5-9pm, with an evening Rosary Service at 7:00 pm on Monday, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Rd) in Warren. He will lie in state on Tuesday from 10:30am until time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00am at St. Mark Catholic Church in Warren. Interment will follow at St. Hedwig Cemetery in Dearborn Heights, Michigan.
