About VICTOR FERRACCIOLO OBITUARY

Victor H. Ferracciolo, 88, passed
away peacefully in Troy, MI on
November 23, 2022. Born the son of
Italian immigrants on July 21,1934 in
Winchester, MA, he was the second
of three children. When he was three
years old, he and his family moved to
southeast Michigan, eventually
settling in Dearborn. As a youth,
Victor developed a passion for
athletics while attending Dearborn
Public Schools. He especially
excelled at football and track. As a
senior at Fordson High School
(grad.1953) he was awarded
Dearborn All City in football. Victor
was recruited by numerous
universities for football. He
ultimately accepted a full ride
athletic scholarship to the University
of Michigan, Ann Arbor. To his great
disappointment, he was unable to
realize his dream of joining the
active roster at U of M due to a
severe knee injury.
Victor subsequently served his
community as a Dearborn City
Firefighter for four years. He later
attended Eastern Michigan
University, Ypsilanti, where he
earned a masters degree in
education. On November 23, 1955,
Victor married Darlene G. (Wiley).
They had three children together,
Darla, Mark, and Daniel. Victor
utilized his education and shared his
passion for athletics by teaching
physical education for 36 years, much at Maples Junior High,
in the
Dearborn Public School System. Over
the years he coached multiple sports
including football, wrestling, track,
basketball, and boys/girls swimming.
His teams won numerous All City
awards during his tenure as coach.
During his summer vacations and off
times, Victor became a licensed
commercial and residential builder,
eventually becoming a successful
entrepreneur in Livingston County,
where he and Darlene raised their
family. Darlene preceded Victor in
death and went home to be with the
Lord on June 5, 2006.
Victor married MaryLou Knapp on
September 4, 2010 and became a part
of her loving family. Victor and
MaryLou traveled extensively (pre-
covid), enjoyed wintering in Florida,
and eventually settled in MaryLou's
home town of Shelby Township, MI.
He is survived by his wife, MaryLou,
his daughter Darla Ferracciolo, his
sons Mark (Bonnie) Ferracciolo, and
Daniel (Susie) Ferracciolo and
grandchildren (of whom he was
exceptionally proud) Danielle,
Benjamin, Derek, Zachary, and

by his brother, Frank Ferracciolo and
many nieces and nephews. He was
preceded in death by his parents,
Michael and Mary Ferracciolo, and
his sister Rosemary Cascio

daughters, Penny Eastman (Bob),
