About Cook, Cynthia Caroline 8/9/1950 - 3/24/2016 Ann Arbor Cook, Cynthia (Cyndi) Caroline: (age 65) as a result of Early Onset Alzheimer's. Born to Caroline and Warren Cook in Dearborn, Michigan, graduated from Fordson High School and the University of Michigan where she earned a Master of Social Work and a specialty in geriatrics. Cyndi worked at a variety of local hospitals including Herrick, Chelsea, University of Michigan and St. Joseph Senior Health. Cyndi was an Advanced Master Gardener and promoted adaptive gardening methods to allow gardeners with physical limitations to keep their fingers in the soil. She loved it when passers-by stopped at her home garden to talk gardening. Cyndi grew organic vegetables for The Back Door Food Pantry. She enjoyed singing and was a long time member of the Kol Halev Choir at Temple Beth Emeth, Ann Arbor. A high point in her singing career was to tour with the choir in Romania, Bulgaria, Greece and Argentina. Cyndi was ever the advocate for peace and social justice and her car always sported a bumper sticker. She is survived by her husband Gregory Fox, children Amy Shelle and Chris Martin, granddaughter Brianna Shelle, mother and step father Caroline and Tom Bodenmiller, sisters Debbie Seven, Molly VanZile and Nancy Foxx Billman and mother-in-law Esther R. Rubin. A memorial service is scheduled for Wednesday, May 11, 7:00 p.m. at Temple Beth Emeth, 2309 Packard, Ann Arbor, 48104. Bring memories to share.
