Hey, Class of ‘81-

We are super excited and working really hard on our 40th Reunion on Saturday, July 16, at McGrail Winery in Livermore. We are trying to organize the best reunion we’ve had yet. In fact, our latest news is....we have booked a DJ- our very own, Class of '81, Brad Tucker will be in charge of the entertainment! We were lucky that he was not booked- he's a pro!

We are also working diligently and trying to keep our reunion as accessible and affordable as possible for everyone. It is time for us to start working on the details and for that, we need your help. As you know, Pleasanton is no longer the sleepy little town it was when we grew up. It is now a part of a very desirable and high cost-of-living area. As such, venues and events can be very costly. We feel that McGrail Winery provides us with a lovely location to reminisce and create new memories for a reasonable price and we are happy that we have chosen this location. Given the results of our poll a couple of months ago, we are trying to keep tickets under $100 and it isn't easy. Very soon, we need to commit to the numbers regarding the venue as well as the amount of food and beverages and that is difficult to calculate without knowing exactly how many of you are coming. If we come up short, those of us on the committee will be left paying the difference. Once we have a better idea, we can calculate the cost and start the ticket sales. Our goal is to have this all figured out by the end of March.

Here is how you can help us right now:

1. Reply to this email today so that Google realizes that our blast emails are not spam. You can also save our reunion email in your contacts foothillclassof81@gmail.com.
2. Tell us in your email if you plan to attend, and if so, how many tickets are you planning to purchase. Currently, we are using 100 attendees in calculating our costs. We would love to get so many more! Also, Make sure we have your best email address and current name- or both maiden and married last names. Sometimes names change. We want to be current.
3. Help us find people. Below is a list of classmates we haven’t been able to contact. Please look at the list and let us know if you know how to contact them. Reply to this email with the names and if you have contact information. Also, you can reach out to them and ask them to email us at foothillclassof81@gmail.com. You can also direct them to Foothill High School 1981 Reunion. You can also invite them to that page. If each of you shares even one friend's contact information we will be well on our way to including everyone on the invitation. This event is also open to our teachers and so far we only have email addresses for Rich Boschetti and Bob Moorefield. Let's add more.
4. BUY YOUR TICKETS EARLY, PLEASE. We will be sending out the electronic invitation and ticket order soon and there will be an “Early Bird” price to give you an incentive to purchase early. It really will help us greatly.
5. Sponsor the event. We have decided to add a special feature for this reunion to help offset our costs. We are offering sponsorships! Sponsors will be acknowledged on a banner and other materials at the event. Do you have a local or internet business you’d like to promote and can expense the cost? Can't attend but would like to contribute? Just feel like helping out? The more sponsors we have the more we can provide. The deadline to let us know you wish to be a sponsor is March 12, 2022. We already have two people who have stepped up to the plate and we'd love to fill every spot. Here are your options:

b. DJ Entertainment Sponsor (1 available) $600, includes 1 free ticket. SOLD!
c. Varsity Sponsor (2 available) $500, includes 1 free ticket.
d. Junior Varsity Sponsor (5 available) $100.

6. Help us create a Legacy Table at the reunion to honor our classmates we have lost. We want to make sure that we have everyone represented. So far, we have Ann Connor, Cindy Joplin, Gary Hill, Mark Dwyer, Mark Orr, Mike Garney, Mike Osborne, Naomi Carter, Richard Eaton, Robert Younger, Susan Sussek. Are we missing anyone? Please let us know. Also, if you’d like to contribute anything to the Legacy Table, let us know that as well.

We are planning other events for the weekend besides the winery on Saturday Night, like a campus tour, so stay tuned! Let's make it a fun weekend that all of the class of 81 will want to attend.
