About Francis J. Andreas, 61, of Jackson Township died January 5, 2017 at home. He was born in Trenton, raised in Ewing, and had resided in Jackson for the past 22 years.
He was an accomplished bowler and known throughout Mercer County and all of New Jersey. He was the owner of Hiohela Lanes, Pennington where he held the house scoring record.
He was a member of the Mercer-Burlington Bowling Association and was inducted in the association’s Hall of Fame in 1999. He was a coach in the Ewing Little League, the West End Soccer League, and a coach in the Jackson Township Youth Sports Programs. He was also a volunteer for the Jackson Township Commission for the Disabled. He was the number one fan and supporter of all his children’s and grandchildren’s sports teams and a lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox and Miami Dolphins.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Megan, his parents, William and Dorothy Spitz Andreas; and his father-in-law, Walter Gollinge.
Surviving are his wife, Donna Gollinge Andreas; his children, Paul and wife Nina, Matthew, Danielle, and Tyler; a sister, Mary Anne Bombery and her husband William; his grandchildren, Joseph, Natalia, and Emma; his mother-in-law, Jean Gollinge, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mark and Cindi Gollinge and Paul and Janet Gollinge; a special family friend, David Martinez; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; and friends.
Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Monday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. followed by entombment at Maplewood Chapel Mausoleum, Freehold. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Jackson Commission for the Disabled or Ewing Little League would be appreciated.
