About Thomas TAYLOR Obituary
TAYLOR Thomas Allen Thomas Allen Taylor, age 58, of Lyons, Ohio, died unexpectedly as the result of a heart attack, Tuesday, May 8, 2012, while vacationing with his wife in West Palm Beach, Florida. He was born February 24, 1954, in Toledo, Ohio to John "Jack" and Eleanor (Michelsen) Taylor. On October 16, 1976, he married his beloved wife, Marlene Standish. Thomas graduated from Evergreen HS in 1972 and went on to play football at the University of Wisconsin in Osh Kosh. He returned home to start a career in carpentry, and has been in the construction trade since 1973. Thomas was also a dedicated owner of his own business, TA Taylor Inc. since 1987. As a union carpenter he worked many years for Arco Inc., and most recently he enjoyed his new career building scaffolding for Harsco Infrastruction. He was a member of the Local 351 Carpenters Union, the Delta United Methodist Church, and Sylvania Moose Lodge. He leaves to cherish his wife Marlene of 37 years; son, Ben of Cleveland; daughter, Abby of Berkey; mother, Eleanor of Berkey; sisters, Sharon (Jim) Evarts of Addison, NY, Barb of Los Angeles, CA, and brother Rick (Balinda) Pahrump of Nevada. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Korene; father, Jack, and brother, David. He will be greatly missed by many of his co-workers and friends. His passion in life was for his children. He would continue to support them in their life and was so very proud to be their father. His son Ben's career in coaching found him cheering from the stands for everyone to hear. He was especially proud of his daughter's decision to chase a military career and wore his pride daily. He loved fishing and gardening and was known to deliver his veggies and canned goods every harvest. Thomas was a truly hard working and genuine loving man, "a gentle giant' that left this earth much too soon. Visitation will be held Sunday, May 13, 2012, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Monday, May 14, 2012, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Metamora.
