Tim & Julia Sweigard

Tim & Julia Sweigard

Class of 1972

Tim and I got reacquainted at our 5 year reunion and married in 1979. The first years of our marriage was spent in Ohio — Bowling Green, Lima, and Lakewood. We have no children but have had several wonderful, loving dogs. Hershey is our current “child,” a standard chocolate poodle.

In 1983 we moved to Winter Park, Florida, for an opportunity to work with Rae Esposito and family operating their restaurant. They tired to open a second restaurant but the business failed. It’s a tough business.

In 1988 Tim joined Morton Electric, a family-owned commercial electrical business, as an electrician in the field, then moved into the office as personnel director. They added safety director to his title as his career advanced. In 2000 I also started working at Morton Electric as receptionist and became office manager.

In 2019 we both retired from Morton. We have now started on a whole new chapter in our lives. After 39 years in Winter Park, 29 in the same house, we moved to Hayesville, North Carolina. We are now “half-backs” (northerner moves south, then half-way back north). For years Tim has been researching this area trying to find a mountain home. Turns out a mountain cabin is a little too rustic for us. We have found a wonderful property on 3.5 acres of woods and a stream. We are only just moving in and look forward to our new adventure.
