Ralston Jr. October 28, 1941 ~ October 26, 2011 Mystic, CT- Robert H. Ralston Jr. (Bob), 69, of Mystic, formerly of Enfield, died unexpectedly, Oct. 26, 2011, at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital. Bob was born in Hartford, CT, on October 28, 1941, elder son of the late Helen Sowinski Ralston and Robert H Ralston, Sr. After graduating Ellington High School in1960, he attended Manchester Community College and Porter and Chester Institute, graduating with a degree in Manufacturing Engineering. He served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1970. Bob worked as a Manufacturing Engineer at Pratt and Whitney Aircraft/United Technologies, retiring in 1993 and then consulting for them until 2008. He lived in Enfield for 30 years before moving to Mystic in 1995. Bob was an avid boater and he most especially loved his Block Island retreats on the vessel “Ba Da Bing!” The Ralston family will receive family and friends from 1 pm to 5 pm on Sunday, October 30, 2011, at the Mystic Funeral Home on Route 1 in Mystic (51 Williams Ave.) A celebration of his life will be held Monday at 10:00 am at St Mary Mother of the Redeemer Church, 69 Groton Long Point Rd, Groton, CT . Military honors will immediately follow the mass. Burial will be private.
