About	Ellen Kathleen "Kathy" Brown lost her battle with cancer March 9, 2008. She was 44. Kathy was born Nov. 4, 1963 in Panama City, Fla. to Daniel and NaomaFay Corley. She grew up in Elk Grove, Ca. and graduated from Elk Grove High School in 1981. She currently resided with her husband Michael in Anderson, Ca. where she had worked for Robert S. Bryant General Contractor as an administrative assistant. She loved music and was involved in writing and recording her own original compositions. Kathy was preceded in death by her mother NaomaFay Corley and her grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. R.L. Corley and Jessie E. Marshall. She is survived by her husband of 16 years, Michael Brown; daughter Jennifer Crowell and husband Justin and grandsons Ivan and Justin of Crescent City, Ca; her father Daniel Corley and wife Hwa of Rancho Cordova, Ca; sisters Andria Jordan of Elk Grove, Ca; Rebecca Vizenor of Yuba City, Ca; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial in honor of Kathy will be held at 1691 Hilltop Rd Friday March 14th at 2 pm. Any rememberances may be made either to the American Cancer Society or to Mercy Hospice, 1544 Market St. Redding, Ca. 96001. Kathy's husband would like this tribute to her also: Kathy, You gave your love and laughter to everyone you met, but most of all to me. Through the years we shared the happiness and also the struggles of life. All you ever desired was my love even though you deserved much more. You are the love of my life and my best friend. I will hold you in my heart for the rest of my life until we're together again my love. ~ Michael

Kathy and I became friends at Kerr Jr. High and remained friends throughout high school and after. I lost touch with her about a year after her daughter Jennifer was born. I'm very sad to hear of her illness and passing. I had always hoped that we would reconnect at some point. RIP Kathy, you were very special to me and everyone you met.
