About	With great sadness, I share the unfortunate news that former El Modena teacher, Les Leggitt, passed away September 7, 2023. Mr. Leggitt was one of the original teachers when El Modena HS opened in 1966 and taught auto shop from 1966 through 1970 as well as was sponsor/advisor for clubs such as The Automotive Association, Service Association, and was instrumental in bringing Wolfman Jack and The Strawberry Alarm Clock to ElMo.
Events	Celebration of Life for Mr. Leggitt will be begin at the November El Mirage race after the racing is finished for day 1 of the 2-day meet on Saturday November 11, 2023 (4pm-5pm-ish). Come watch the cars run during the day and celebrate afterward. We will need a rough head count for chairs, tables, and food. It would be greatly appreciated if you would R.S.V.P by email at LeggittEngines@gmail.com. The entrance to the El Mirage dry lake bed is located at 20471 Mountain View Rd, Adelanto, CA 92301. Once you get to this location you will have to drive across the Lakebed to the starting line, where the race cars are leaving. Behind the starting line on the edge of the lakebed is the SCTA building where the celebration of life will be held. Additional information and/or help will be provided if asked for in the RSVP email.
