Born on February 25, 1950, John E. Favors, also known as Bhakti Tirtha Swami Krishnapada, is a prominent graduate from East Technical High School, Cleveland, Ohio. He went on to become an influential figure in the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON). In his lifetime, he wore many hats as a spiritual guide, author, and social reformer. His journey with ISKCON traces back to his time as a student. His varied personas include names like Toshombe Abdul and Ghanasyama Dasa, revealing his dynamic and transformative journey in spirituality.

Joining the ISKCON movement, he adhered to the Gaudiya Vaishnavism branch of Hinduism. He subsequently entered Sannyasa, indicating his commitment to a life of religious discipline, renunciation, and spirituality.
