What is Zack Burdi known for?

Zack Burdi, born on March 9, 1995, is a professional baseball pitcher from Downers Grove, Illinois. He attended Downers Grove South High School and later joined the University of Louisville, where he continued to play baseball. In 2014, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Chatham Anglers of the Cape Cod Baseball League.

His professional career kickstarted when he was selected by the Chicago White Sox as the 26th pick in the first round of the 2016 Major League Baseball Draft. As of the 2023 season, Burdi had a win-loss record of 0-1 and an earned run average of 8.44, with 23 strikeouts. He played for the Chicago White Sox from 2020 to 2021, made a brief stint with the Baltimore Orioles in 2021, and later joined the Tampa Bay Rays in 2023.

During his time with the White Sox, Burdi demonstrated his skills in multiple matches, rotating between the Arizona White Sox, Winston-Salem Dash, Birmingham Barons, and Charlotte Knights. His first professional season saw him securing a 1–0 record with a 3.32 ERA, striking out 51 players in 38 innings pitched between the four clubs. In 2020, he debuted in the major leagues and had a score of 0-1 with an 11.05 ERA and 11 strikeouts over 17 1/3 innings.

In 2021, he was transferred to the Baltimore Orioles and was assigned to the Triple-A Norfolk Tides. In the same year, he was claimed off waivers by the Arizona Diamondbacks but was later released in March 2022. Following this, he signed a minor league deal with the Washington Nationals in April 2022.

Unfortunatly, he later became a free agent which means he was not affiliated with any teams as of the 2023 season.
