I remember a wide white circle on the kindergarten floor where we had to "sit like good little Indians". (At many schools today it's sit criss-cross apple sauce.) Our teacher, Ms. Gilman (sp) would play the piano. We had a big outside porch for us to play on when it was nice outside. We only went for a half day. I was a morning student.
