We will finalize the information as soon as possible. We will meet a one of the local bars on Fri evening June 1st , play golf on Sat, meet for lunch Sat at noon, then gather locally on Sat. evening. Welcome to the Derby High School class of 1980’s 35th class reunion. On Friday Sept 25th, we will meet at the Derby High School Football Stadium at 6pm for a home game. The game will start at 7pm. After the game, you will have two choices for continued conversations with your long lost classmates. First is The Boswell Compound which is located down by the river at 701 S. Buckner in Derby. Bring your coolers along for whatever you may want to drink. Or if you are not the outdoorsy type, you may choose to go to Madrocks Sports Bar instead located at 1821 East Madison in Derby
Saturday Sept 26th we will meet at the Lange Derby Community Center from 5pm to Midnight. It is Located at 844 N. Baltimore in Derby. We will be serving Pig In Pig Out Barbeque for dinner at approximately 6pm. This is a BYOB event.
For those who will be needing hotel accommodations, we have reserved a block of rooms at the Hampton Inn in Derby, Located at 1701 Cambridge. Phone number is 316-425-7900. They have given us a discounted rate. A single queen room is $99 and double queen room is $109. They serve a full free breakfast. Just let them know you are with the Derby High School 35th class reunion.
There is a $15.00 charge per person for this event. This will cover food and community center rental fees.

Cost: Here’s where it gets good—donations only! Just chip into the donations jar during our reunion. No pressure, we want everyone to join back together and relive old (I mean “really old”) memories. We know the past few years have been hard on a lot of folks, but this is a time for us all to have fun and nobody needs to worry about cost. SO NO EXCUSES!!
Music: Cindy's husband Steve has graciously offered to burn CDs of our favorite rock music from our high school years, need someone to volunteer a stereo and speakers we can easily set up (I hate to date myself with words like "Boom Box" but that thought comes to mind).
What else: Billy Wenzel, Class of ’79 Golf Director, is setting up some tee times for Saturday morning the 26th (please, not too early) for those interested, and I believe others are planning some side outings that we will continue to gather details on and get out to everyone. Also, Friday Sandy is organizing a reserved area for our class at Marrocks, just south of the high school on Rock Rd.
Head count: Let Mike Read know if you are planning to attend the Friday BBQ so he can plan for the meat, michael.e.read@nasa.gov, and if you are interested in golf Saturday you can let him know that also and he will pass along to Bill.

35 YEAR REUNION INFORMATION
Are you ready for some reminiscing? It’s been 35 years since we walked those hallowed halls of Derby Senior High School and we will be celebrating on Friday, October 11th and Saturday, October 12th, 2013.
Friday evening, October 11th, we plan to gather at the football stadium to watch Derby defeat Hutch! GO PANTHERS!! The game starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $6 (adult) and $4 (student). During the game, ’76 Derby graduate, Duane Howard, and several others will be honored as the 2013 Derby Athletic Hall of Fame inductees. An after-game event is planned as well.
A 9 a.m. breakfast at Village Inn in Derby will start the Saturday, October 12th events followed by a golf tournament at Hidden Lakes Golf Course with first tee off at 11 a.m. The day will conclude with our main event starting at 4:00 p.m.
Plan to join us for this weekend of good food, great fun, and catching up with former classmates and friends.
