Graduation Year Class of 1990
Date of Passing May 18, 2007
About It was 10 yrs. we were together March of 2007. I got divorced from my 1st husband in Columbus, GA (Ft. Benning-he was in the Army). We had just came back from his 1st duty station at Schofield Barracks, HI. We parted ways, he came back here somewhere, and I stayed in Columbus just me and my grandmother (Nan). I met my late husband working at Ft. Benning Commissary. He was born on the polynesian island of Western Samoa. He moved to New Zealand when he was 5 with his grandmother, then to Australia when he was 9 with his grandmother. He came to GA when he was 15. I later met him after his aunt started working with us. Then he started his job and I've never felt in my entire life what I felt the 1st time I looked into his eyes! I do believe in love at 1st sight. We met in March of 1997. We got married June 24, 1999, a day after my birthday. We were in a horrific car accident on May 17th, 2007, and my husband wasn't wearing a seatbelt and we were doing at least 90mph according to the police report. I however was wearing my seatbelt and I'm still left here to continue my life. They officially declared him deceased at 19:15 Friday, May 18th, 2007. It's still very fresh and I'm still sore but I know after making through that ride I took from hell that THERE IS A GOD!!!!!!! He had started mistreating me lately and he was screaming at me that morning for asking him to please take his trash out of the truck. The last look from him that I remember was one like the devil and he jerked the steering wheel and immediately lost control of our truck. He didn't know all this would happen. He only had his driver's license from April 12th, 2007 until that day so he was inexperienced. He drove big machinery at work that had a lot more play in the steering wheel than a regular car and I don't think he knew that. It's been really hard because he was my only REAL love. He used to tell me that no 2 loves are ever the same and I know I'll never find one like the one I just lost. But y'all know I'm a strong woman and I will make it. I just thought I would share that with y'all before I run into anyone and have to go through the whole story again because as you can imagine, I'm tired of talking about it already. I'm still taking care of his affairs after all this time! Anyway, DRIVE SAFELY, DON'T DRIVE ANGRY, AND PLEASE IN THE NAME OF EVERYTHING THAT IS HOLY, WEAR YOUR SEATBELT!!!!!!!!!!
