About	Today would be my brothers 67th birthday and the class of 1967. He dropped out 3 months before graduation and joined the Marines soon after training was sent to Vietnam. He was wounded on a search and destroy misson on August 22 1968 . He lost his right hand in addition to multiple life threatening injuries and with it his Cupertino High School ring he wore. After 2 years and 18 surgeries he survived the physical wounds of war but the war never left him. He always said he died in Vietnam. His remaining years were full of emotinal turmoil and in 1992 was diagnosed with brain cancer most likely the result of his exposure to Agent Orange. He was awarded the silver star in 1969 and the purple heart.
