Service description Roger enlisted in the Army in September 2004. He completed Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training for Light Wheel Mechanic at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. In March 2005, he was assigned to the 704th Support Battalion, 4th Infantry Division at Fort Hood, Texas. He served a tour of duty in Iraq from Dec 2005 to Nov 2006. He received promotions up to Specialist. His awards and decorations included: the National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Army Service Ribbon. Roger was stationed at Fort Hood when he died from injuries received in a car accident in March 2007. |
