Your Help Needed by Father’s Day
As a surprise Father’s Day gift, letters are being sought from the students, colleagues, and friends of Les Henderson.
The Henderson’s—Lester and Thelma and their four kids—Doug, Betty, Peggy, and Jackie--owned cabins and a trailer park—Henderson’s Hideway—along Highway 24.
Les taught Fifth Grade and Reading in Cloudcroft Schools from 1965 through 1968. He enjoyed playing the trumpet and was a member of a small band that played at school basketball games. He also assisted the volunteer fire department and enjoyed playing golf. In 1969, the Hendersons moved to Colorado, where Les retired in 1986, after 36 years of teaching.
Les Henderson now lives in Pueblo West, Colorado. Add to a very special Father’s Day by taking a moment to share your memories. Notes may be mailed to Jackie Henderson, 1088 Honeysuckle Drive, Pueblo West, CO 81007 or e-mailed to Betty at bthompson@everestkc.net Call Betty at 785-754-8309 if you have questions).
