About	Bruce lived a full life that was rich with friends and experiences. He shared his love of music with hundreds of students over the years and was semi-retired at the time of his death--working in a top middle school band program and mentoring young band directors in the community. He was co-director of the Albuquerque Concert Band after a long tenure with that organization, where he played trumpet and from time to time, served as the director (until he needed to escape into the trumpet section again). He was also a founding member of the Albuquerque Jazz Orchestra. Bruce had two teaching careers, one in Peshtigo, WI and 15 years later, in Albuquerque, NM. He was a graduate of Northern Michigan University and completed his Masters degree at New Mexico State University. Bruce is survived by his wife Pat, daughters Tina Barber and Jennifer Kroken, son-in-law Tom Barber and grandsons Zachary and Jacob Barber.
