Arvid R. "Dick" Hardy, 64, of Charlevoix, died Feb. 5, 1993, at Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey. \r

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10, at the Community Church of God in Charlevoix. The Rev. Bruce E. Hamilton will officiate and interment will be in Brookside Cemetery, Charlevoix. He was born Sept. 13, 1928, in Charlevoix, the son of Fred. R. and Hilma (Eley) Hardy. He was raised in Charlevoix and graduated from Charlevoix High School in 1947. He attended Alma College and Lake Superior State College.
Mr. Hardy served in the U.S. Air Force in Germany during the Korean conflict from 1950 to 1954.
He married Audrey J. Byers in Charlevoix on April 14, 1951. In 1956, they made their home in Saugus, Calif., where he was employed by Certified Grocers of California as plant superintendent at San Fernando. He retired in 1987 after 31 years.
Mr. Hardy was a member of the American Legion Leslie T. Shapton Post No. 226 in Charlevoix. He is survived by his wife, Audrey of Charlevoix; two sons, Michael R. of Vale, Colo., and Thomas K. of Valencia, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. James (Pamela J.) Spell of Eagle, Colo., and Sheryl L. Hardy of Pomona, Calif., two grandsons, Kristopher M. Hardy and Clinton James Spell; his mother, Mrs. Hilma Hull of Charlevoix; one sister, Mrs. Norman (Joyce) Ketchman of Stevensville; and two brothers, Donald of Colorado Springs, Colo. and David of Valley Springs, Calif.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Charlevoix Area Hos- pital or to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes for memorial contributions are available at the Winchester Funeral Home in Charlevoix where friends may call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9.
