About	EUGENE ALBERT BARBER Gene Barber was born on April 14, 1928 in Flint, Michigan to Elmer and Cornelia Barber. Gene left home at 18 and enlisted in the Army Air Corp just at the end of WWII. He served for 20 years retiring in 1966 as a Master Sergeant in the US Air Force. Gene married Arlene Richter in 1952 and together they traveled the world, raised two children and enjoyed life living first in Texas and then moving to California in the early 1970's. Gene was a longtime resident of Claremont, California and it was there that he succumbed to a brief illness on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at 7:59 pm. He died at home with his loving wife, daughter and family friends by his side. Along with being a patriot, Gene was a devoted family man, golfer, and owner of Barber Termite and Pest Control Training Courses. He is survived by his wife, Arlene, daughter Karen Bodge and son Michael, daughter-in-law Tiny, son-in-law Cole, grandson Matthew, sister Bonnie Keie, brother Bud and wife Susan, and many nieces and nephews. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, July 3rd at noon at Our Lady of Assumption in Claremont. Published in Inland Valley Daily Bulletin on June 20, 2010
