About	CHARLEVOIX - Funeral services for Dr. W. Claire Cartier, 78, who died Thursday at his home in Grand Rapids, will be held at St. Mark's Episcopal Church on Saturday. Interment will be in a Grand Rapids cemetery. Dr. Cartier, a graduate of Charlevoix High School and the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in 1925, practiced in Grand Rapids for 54 years until forced to retire because of ill health. He was a member and past president of the Western Michigan Dental Association and a member of the American College of Dental Surgeons. He also was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church and the Kent Country Club. Dr. Cartier was born in Chatham, Ont., and came here with his parents in 1905. He is survived by his wife, the former Margaret Williams; two daughters, Mrs. Peter (Lynn) Buchanan and Ms. Carol Cartier, both of Denver, Colo.; five grandchildren; two brothers, Harold of Red Hook, N.Y., and Stanley J. of Atlanta, Ga., and a sister, Mrs. Betty Cross of Sarnia, Ont.
