About	Andrew Thomas Carey, 63, of Crystal Lake, Ill., and formerly of Charlevoix, passed away Oct. 19, 2009, at home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with stomach cancer. Andy was born Sept. 10, 1946, to Thomas and Esther Carey in Charlevoix. He graduated from Charlevoix High School in 1964 and soon went into business as the proprietor of Andy's Tire World. In 1979 he married Rebekah Albrecht and they moved to Escondido, Calif., before returning to the Midwest where he developed his skills as a carpenter and established Andy Carey Remodeling in the Chicago area in 1986. He is survived by his de- voted children: son, Jesse (Colleen) of Indianapolis, daughters, Rachel (Jason) Borchard of Milwaukee, Lynn (Mark) Brandli of Atlanta, and the light of his life this past year, his granddaughter Mya Anne Borchard; brothers, Denny (Margaret) Carey of Bellville, Kan., Brad (Cathy) Carey of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Ross (Mary Beth) Carey of Farmington Hills; sisters, Chris (Dennis) Carter of Cincinnati, Jean (John) Remillet of Grosse Pointe, and Ellie Carey of Tra- verse City. Andy will be remembered as a devoted son and brother, a faithful father, grandfather and friend. He loved the great outdoors, fast motorcycles and race cars, and was a gifted wood worker. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be 9:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 23, at the Unitariar Universalist Church of Elgin, 39W830 Highland Ave., Elgin, Ill. 60121. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hospice of Northeastern Illinois, 410 South Hager Ave, Barrington, III. 60010, or Peggy Carey- Northway Scholarship Fund at Charlevoix Area Hospital.
