About Rann, Wanda M. Charlevoix, Formerly of Perry
Age 62, died Tuesday, February 5, 2002, at the Charlevoix Area Hospital. Wanda was born February 5, 1940 in Charlevoix, the daughter of Albert L. and Pauline E. (Zitka) Russell. She graduated from Charlevoix High School in 1958, then attended Flint Junior College and Michigan State University. She married John Rann in 1965, and they made their home in Perry where they owned and operated Rann's Rexall Drug Store. John preceded her in death in 1992, and Wanda returned to Charlevoix in 1996. Wanda was Charlevoix's 1958 Venetian Queen. She was a member of St. Mary's Church, the Charlevoix Historical Society, and Friends of the Charlevoix Public Library. Wanda enjoyed reading, dancing, gardening, visiting Charlevoix's beaches, and her many friends. Wanda is survived by her children, Kit "Casey" Carson of East Lansing; Kelly (David) Herboldsheimer of Charlevoix, and John Phoenix (Raechell) Rann of Racine, Wisc.; stepchildren, Diane Rann and husband John Stewart of Boston, Mass., and Julie Rann of Cadillac; grandchildren, Karissa, Hannah, Sophie, Bailey, Christina, and Stephanie; mother Pauline E. Russell of Charlevoix; sisters, Evelyn (Alva) Noirot, and Judy A. Russell of Charlevoix, Sharon Snyder of Pearland, TX. Mass of the Resurrection will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 8, 2002 at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Charlevoix. The Reverend Robert W. Nalley officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Friends of the Charlevoix Public Library, or Charlevoix Historical Society. Friends may meet the family at the Winchester Funeral Home from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday.
