About	Gloria Jean (Ostrum) MacKersie of Cadillac passed away, July 21, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Cadillac. She was 78. She was born on April 11, 1935 in Charlevoix to Eldred Delos & Eva Louise (Krchak) Ostrum and they preceded her in death. Gloria graduated from Charlevoix High School. She had lived in the Cadillac for the past 21 years. Gloria had various occupations over the years but her most enjoyable employment was the licensed child provider that she owned and operated for many years. Gloria loved family gatherings, spending time outdoors, gardening, doing crafts and babysitting. On December 4, 1976 in Charlevoix she married Blaine MacKersie and he survives her along with her children: Randy (Missy) Lanterman of Traverse City and Rochelle (Jerry) Kimble of Germfask, MI; grandchildren: Teresa (Troy) Johnson, Jeannie (Chris) Tucker, Delos Lanterman and Tavia Lanterman;3 great grandchildren; 2 brothers; Rodney (Peggy) Ostrum of Charlevoix and Norman (Jan) Ostrum of Marshall; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers: Robert & Franklin Ostrum. Funeral services will be held 12 Noon Thursday, July 25, 2013 at the Peterson Funeral Home in Cadillac with Reverend Brian Seifert officiating. Graveside services will be held 2:30 PM Thursday at the Flake Cemetery in Barryton, Michigan. Friends may meet the family Wednesday from 5-7 PM at the funeral home as well as one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
