About	Steven J. Sitzema, 60, passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at his home in Banks Township, Antrim County, Michigan. He was born on October 19, 1956, in Charlevoix, the son of Ronald and Wilma (Thorp) Sitzema. Steven graduated from Charlevoix High School in 1975. Steven worked for the East Jordan Iron Works, now known as EJ. After working 35 years, he retired in 2012. He married Cynthia Stallard on December 8, 1984, in Lansing, Michigan. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, farming, going to the casino and woodworking. He was an avid Detroit Tigers fan. He is survived by his loving family; wife, Cynthia Sitzema; six children, Douglas M. (Ruth) Sineway, Jr., Suzanne R. (Derrick) Sineway Bailey, Steven J. (Colleen) Sitzema, Jr., Robert M. (Tracy) Sineway, Kammie M. (Matt) Sitzema Krueger and Benjamin R. (Brandy) Sitzema; fifteen grandchildren; two great grandchildren; his parents, Ronald, Sr. and Wilma Sitzema; brother, Greg (Patti) Sitzema; sister, Dawn (Tim) Sitzema Shufflin; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by one brother, Ronald Sitzema, Jr. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2017, at 1:00 P.M. at the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc. in East Jordan. Rev. Craig Pahl of the East Jordan United Methodist will officiate. Interment will be in Ellsworth Cemetery, Banks Township, Antrim County, Michigan. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. and Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc. in East Jordan.
