About Nancy R. Bambach, 92, of Charlevoix, went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 6, 2023 under the loving care of the staff at Samaritas Senior Living. She was born on March 23, 1931 in Charlevoix, MI to the late Ray and Mabel Kipke.

Nancy graduated from Charlevoix High School in 1949 and went on to attend nursing school at Sparrow Hospital. She worked at Holland Hospital for 17 years before moving back to Charlevoix with her husband in 1992.

Nancy was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She treasured spending time with her family and enjoyed golfing, playing cards, crocheting, and tending to her flower gardens.

She is survived by her children, Katherine Burton of Elk Rapids, Deborah Bambach of Flagstaff, AZ, Laura (Gerry) Mayes of Interlochen, Pamela (Steve) Bemis of Traverse City, Steven (Beverly) Bambach of Livonia; 14 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

On November 14, 1952 in Austin, Texas she married Donald Bambach who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her parents, and her sisters Amy Gibson and Bennie Von Helens.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 14, 2023 at the Community Reformed Church in Charlevoix with Pastor Chip Sauer officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00p.m. on Sunday, August 13 at the Charlevoix Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Private interment will be held at Brookside Cemetery in Charlevoix.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Ray Kipke Scholarship Fund, c/o Charlevoix County Community Foundation, PO Box 718, East Jordan, MI 49727.

Arrangements are being handled by the Winchester Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
