Terri Utley (1980)

Miss USA 1982, Miss Arkansas USA 1982

What is Terri Utley (1980) known for?

Terri Lea Utley, known also as Terri Britt and Terri Amos-Britt, is a significant alumna from Cabot High School, Arkansas. Born in Cabot, Arkansas in 1961, Terri achieved national recognition when she won the Miss USA 1982 title. Prior to this victory, she had also been crowned Miss Arkansas USA in the same year.

In her early years, Terri was an engaged student, participating in the American Legion Auxiliary Girls State program and serving as vice-president of the Cabot High School class of 1980. She then progressed to the beauty pageant world, where her unique bob cut became a recognizable feature. Notably, she was the first Miss USA titleholder from Arkansas and the first from Cabot to win Miss Arkansas USA. This paved the way for future titleholders, with the next woman from Arkansas not placing in the pageant until 2005.

Following her pageant career, Terri transitioned into journalism, serving as a writer and field producer for a West Coast news station. She then became a spokeswoman for Mazda, as well as a news anchor on Movietime television (now E!), which allowed her to cover prestigious events such as the Academy Awards and the Cannes Film Festival. In 1990, she appeared in a promo for the popular science-fiction television show Quantum Leap on NBC.

Despite her successful career, Terri decided to step away from the entertainment industry to focus on her family, which included three daughters. The unfortunate death of her father led her to confront personal anger issues, driving her towards traditional healing. Following this, she studied energetic healing, meditation, and spiritual consulting in Santa Monica, California.

At present, Terri serves as a spiritual coach and motivational speaker in Cleveland, GA. In addition to her career, Terri has also authored "The Enlightened Mom," which was voted Best Spiritual Book of 2011 at both the New York and San Francisco Book Festivals.
