My junior yr taking electronics at Loudoun high school half a day turned into working at electronics repair shop my senior yr half a day .for good background in the trade. Claimed professional level in 11 trades using each one in connection with next.
I loved teaching about the best-adult trades with hands on skills learned. Used this in engineering to help troubleshoot, design revision and retrain the production teams in overseas factories. Guess my life has been fortunate at this age to having a family that has stayed bonded and supportive to each other. Being a good citizen, trying your best even when one can’t do what was possible a few yrs ago is important to anyone. I can wish for everyone to choose a task- small one- maybe making cookies, and do it. Complete that task and look back- you created something and the satisfaction one gets is soothing. Of course cookies won’t last long, but you could make double batch next time. Do something that you can share that kindness with another. Reach out halfway with a cookie in hand and you can start the conversation. Our world in progressing to where we are shows a lack of love, compassion, and welcome to others. We can change this, enlarging our own circle- maybe a cookie at a time.
Offer help to a neighbor. Jump in at a store where you see one struggling to load and ask let me help you-not for thanks or reward but because it’s what is in our ability. Pay it forward is a phrase we hear, but help one another is showing love of neighbor. So anyone making cookies soon?
