About	Woman, 49, found dead in her SUV Daily Journal staff report Nov 30, 2009 A Redwood City woman was found dead in her SUV in Belmont Saturday night, suffering from stab wounds that may have been self-inflicted, according to police. Officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of El Verano Way on a report of a suspicious vehicle at about 10:25 p.m. and found Valerie Zuffi, 49, slumped over in her vehicle. Zuffi appeared to have suffered trauma "consistent with knives,” which were found inside the locked vehicle, according to police. A passerby called the Belmont Police Department and reported there was a white Ford Explorer parked on the street. The caller said it had been there for a while and that someone appeared to be sleeping in it. Responding units found Zuffi inside suffering from major trauma. She was not responsive, and an emergency medical technician from the Belmont-San Carlos Fire Department pronounced her dead at about 10:35 p.m. Detectives from the Belmont Police Department and the San Mateo County Crime Lab and the coroner’s office responded as well. Zuffi worked at Sun Microsystems from 1992 until 2008 and graduated from San Jose State University. It is unclear why Zuffi was in Belmont Saturday night and the death remains under investigation.
