Bradley Murray, age 61, of Brainerd, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2016 at his home, surrounded by his loving family, following a courageous battle with cancer. Memorial services will be Wednesday, January 4, at 11 AM, at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 3, from 5-7 PM, and will continue on Wednesday during the hour prior to services. Bradley Peter Murray was born April 6, 1955 in Brainerd, to Francis and Corinne (Weiss) Murray. He grew up in Brainerd, graduating in 1973 from Brainerd High School, where he enjoyed swimming competitively. After graduation Brad entered the Navy, where he served from 1973-1978. Following his honorable discharge, he worked at St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth, as an ER scrub technician. He moved to Portland, Oregon, where he worked for Hewlett-Packard in their printer division, beginning in the 1980's. In 2003, he retired from HP and returned to Brainerd. He was united in marriage to Kimberly Kenyon on August 21, 2004, at Christ Community Church in Nisswa. He worked as a certified hearing aid dispenser for Avada Audiology until his retirement in 2015. Brad enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling, and was an avid reader. Bradley will be remembered and missed by the love of his life, his wife, Kim, of Brainerd; his mother, Connie Murray, of Brainerd; and his siblings, Wayne Murray, of Breezy Point, Linda Murray, of Brainerd, Laurel Allord, of Brainerd, Wendy (Ron) Opheim, of Pillager, and Michael (Rhonda) Murray, of Brainerd. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Murray, and a brother-in-law, Larry Allord. Arrangements entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel and Cremation Service of Baxter.
