Dr. Robert A. Liners, graduate of Brainerd Mn. high school, was chosen in 2011, by Marquette University, as the "most distinguished alumnus". Dr. Liners and his wife volunteered for 35 consecutive years and completed 65 one month assignments in third world countries.
They introduced dentistry in area where there had never been a dentist. In 1989 they established a full time dental clinic in the jungle area of Guatemala and, in 1993, they established a similar clinic in Kilimambogo, Kenya. From their home office they have recruited and scheduled 24 volunteer dentists, annually, from around the world to staff the two clinics. Dr. Liners had his private dental clinic in Watertown, WI. where he and his wife raised 4 children.
