About	WAREHAM -- Charles L. Aylmer, 80, of Buzzards Bay died Monday, March 15, 2004 at Tobey Hospital. A lifelong Buzzards Bay resident, he was the son of the late George F. and Margaret (Lunney) Aylmer. He was a communicant of St. Margaret's Church. Mr. Aylmer was an attorney with a private practice in Buzzards Bay. He was on the Sandwich town counsel. He graduated from Bourne High School, Brown University and the New England School of Law. He was a Navy veteran of World War II serving aboard the submarine USS Cavalla (SS-244) when it sank the Japanese aircraft carrier Shokaku on June 19, 1944 during the battle of the Philippine Sea. He was a member of the U.S. Submarine Veterans of WWII and the Aptucxet Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5988 in Bourne. His funeral Mass was held at St. Patrick's Church with burial following in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
