About	Las Vegas Review, Henderson, Nevada March 11, 2018 James Daniel Doucette, J, Jamie, Dewey, 45 James Daniel Doucette, 45, passed away unexpectedly March 4, 2018, in his Las Vegas home, just two weeks after a diagnosis of cancer. James, affectionately known as J, Jamie, or Dewey, was born June 14, 1972 and grew up in Sagamore Beach, Massachusetts. He was a mischievous, lighthearted, fun-loving and loyal brother, son, and friend who had a special knack for making you laugh until it hurt. When you hurt, this gentle giant could wrap you up in the biggest, warmest of bear hugs to give you strength and ease your pain. When Jamie wasn't busy teasing his siblings like it was his job, going the extra mile for the last laugh, or "getting away with murder", he could be found shooting hoops, on the baseball field, at the beach, playing trombone, or hanging with his buddies. In 1989-1990, he was a member of the memorable Bourne High School basketball team. The games were epic as they made their way to the third round of states, and the memories made and bonds formed lasted a lifetime! In 1990, Jamie moved to Las Vegas to attend UNLV and to pursue his hotel and restaurant dreams, and that he did, making a career out of bringing people together and having a good time. He remained passionate about sports as he built a wonderful community of fanatic New England "transplant" fans, and continued his love of writing by blogging about being a Dad. He led by example and really knew how to be there for people in their time of need. He leaves a legacy of love and so much laughter and will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him. James will be laid to rest with a private family service on Cape Cod. A celebration of his life will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 11, at Fred's Tavern, 1645 N. Lamb Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89115, at Lamb and Owens. There will also be a celebration of life at 5 p.m. Friday, March 23, at Salerno's Function Hall, 196 Onset Ave., MA 02558, on Cape Cod.
