About Robert "Bob" C. Estes born February 9, 1927, died November 23, 2016.

Mr. Estes moved to Borger in 1952, the same year the Borger Bulldog Stadium was built, and spent 34 years working for the Borger Independent School District, finally retiring in May of 1986. He was a football coach, taught history and biology in the high school, he was the Assistant Principal at Sam Houston, the Principal at Buena Vista Elementary School and then Stephen F. Austin Junior High. He then became the Assistant Superintendent, was the director of curriculum, Head Start, and Textbook Custodian. Finally, Mr. Estes was the Athletic Director, in charge of the athletic budget, scheduling games, ticket sales, arranging travel for the teams, and organizing the All-Sports Banquet.

Mr. Estes was not just former member, but a former president of the Borger Noon Lions Club, as well as the Southwest Football Officials Association. He was a volunteer for many years at the local museum, Helping Hands, as well as one of the coaches for the Special Olympics Bowling Team. He was an active member of his church, helping on Wednesdays with AWANAS and later Kid's Club, until he was unable to do so any longer.

Preceded in death by; his wife Hazel Marie Estes, his brothers, Harold and wife Doris Estes, and Howard and wife Peggy Estes, and his parents, Ann Barton and Ollie Beal Estes.

Survivors are his children; Mark Estes, Shelley Atherton, and Shawn Estes, grandson; Kris Anaya and wife Jaime and children; Anthony, Michael, and Shaylea Anaya, and Ambria and Royce Bradley, and granddaughter Karrie and husband Dylan Lay, and children; Angel and Sam Lay, and Daegan-Elias Kirk as well as many other loving nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

Funeral service will be held by Minton-Chatwell Directors on Saturday December 3rd, at 1PM, at Keeler Baptist Church with Rev. Leon Green of the Belton Baptist Church, and Rev. Randy Bartley of the Keeler Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in the garden of "Love" at Westlawn Memorial Park. Family will be receiving visitors at Minton-Chatwell Friday evening from
